The datsun cherry was introduced in august 1970. The name was different in some countries. In japan he was just called nissan cherry, for switzerland datsun 100A cherry and on the german title registered as datsun 100A. The correct name in the nissan company was E10. In 1974 he was followed by his successor the FII (F10 in the USA). The last E10 found their way to the customers till end of 1977.
The datsun cherry f II or f10 in theĀ USA came 1974 on the market. In Switzerland he came a little bit later on in 1976. The frame and mechanical parts were the same as with the e10 but he was just a bit longer and met more the american style then the europian one. This time all three version came together. Here we had them only with the A10 and A12 engine. In some other countries the new A14 engine was available. The SU-Carbs were in japan only bolt on the e10 version but here only the f10 and later on the n10 were officially fitted out with it.
The datsun cherry n10 came 1979 on the market. As first with the A-engine and then in 1982 with the brand new E-engine with crossflow head. The gear box was not longer under the engine, now it was just bolt on the side.
