The fastback version was the first one and had 2 or 4 doors. In german the 2 door version was very rare and in switzerland you could not buy the 4 door one. The engine was everytime the A10 with 988 ccm and 45 DIN PS / 6'000 U/min. The carburator was the standard Hitachi downdraught one. In japan and some other countries it was also fit out with the bigger A12 engine with 1171 ccm and 52 DIN PS / 5'600 U/min or the gx version with SU-Carbs and 65 DIN PS / 6'000 U/min (PE10). The cherry had on all four wheels independent suspension and in front drums or disc brakes depending on the version. All together a good base for racing. The differences between germany and switzerland are very minor. For example the washer bag you will only find in the swiss version and for the german one they used a stable plastic box. Following facelifts were made: 1970-1971 small rear panel, because of the noise of the cooler nickname vacuum cleaner 1972-1973 electrical cooler instead of the mechanical one 1973-1977 bigger rear lamps, emblem datsun 100A on rear fender side
